SatCon Technology Corp. (Cambridge, MA) recently announced that its Advanced Fuel Cell Power Products Division has introduced the MicroGrid Line of Fuel Cell Controllers and Software. According to SatCon, the new line of digital controllers and software can integrate into any fuel cell power-generation systems, from small residential systems to larger commercial and industrial systems. With modification, it can also be integrated into fuel cell HEVs.

The MicroGrid Line can be sized for any fuel cell power-generation system, including 500kW to 3MW commercial sizes for use in shopping malls or factories. It is also designed to operate line-coupled or stand-alone, and can be used with any customer's power electronics.

"We're very pleased to be able to offer this new product," said David Eisenhaure, SatCon's president and CEO. "The MicroGrid Line is versatile and, with just slight modifications to the SatCon proprietary software, is available for any fuel cell system, whether it's a residential or commercial power-generation system or a fuel cell hybrid-electric automobile."
