SatCon Appoints Ted Lesster as Director of Engineering of Technology Center

SatCon Technology Corp. (Cambridge, MA) announced the appointment of Ted Lesster as Director of Engineering of the Technology Center, effective February 1, 1999. Lesster will have broad responsibilities for management and mentoring of the technical staff within the Technology Center, and for business development. Lesster is currently Chief Scientist of the Oceanic and Naval Systems Division at Northrop Grumman Electronics Systems Sector. Prior to this assignment, he led the Electric Vehicle Powertrain Team at Northrop Grumman (formerly Westinghouse). This team developed and transitioned to production the 100 horsepower powertrain for the Chrysler EPIC minivan and the 230 horsepower powertrain for school and transit buses."We expect Ted to take a major role in our program to develop an Automotive Integrated Power Module (AIPM)," stated Dr. James Kirtley, vice president and general manager of SatCon's Technology Division. "We expect to capitalize on that program and expand our activities in power electronics to encompass applications such as distributed electric power generation using fuel cells microturbines."
