Sanken Electric Co. Ltd. (Durham, NC) is expanding its line of low EMI, high-efficiency power supplies with the new ADP 100WB Series with power factor correction. According to Sanken, the units are suited to a wide range of portable applications, including notebook computers, printers and instrumentation. Sanken's patented SMZ (Soft-switched Multi-resonant Zero-current switching) topology products is claimed to produce higher efficiency and lower controlled EMI than traditional designs. The use of integrated magnetic technology reduces leakage current without internal screens or bulky filtering, according to the firm. The 100W ADP 100WB features a universal input of 90 to 264Vac and is available in output voltages of 16Vdc to 24Vdc. The ultra-compact unit measures 125mm x 70mm x 34mm.
