RO Intros Half-Brick 48V Modules - Su48-5-150 & Su48-5-200
The new Su48-5-150 and Su48-5-200 from RO Associates Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA) are two new models in RO's SuperMicro family of dc/dc converters that incorporate the features of the firm's "three-quarter brick" MicroVerter family into an industrial standard "half brick" package (2.28" x 2.4" x 0.5"). The Su48-5-150 is a direct form/fit/function replacement for industry standard 48V input, 5V output, 150W, half brick modules. The Su48-5-200 provides 33 percent more power (200W) in the same direct replacement package for applications requiring additional power. The high density converter modules are intended for distributed or centralized power in telecom, wireless, industrial control and computer applications.The high-efficiency, constant frequency, isolated, low noise converters operate at full power over a base plate temperature range of -40 to +100 degrees C and achieve up to 72W per cubic inch power density. The low-noise, encapsulated modules include remote sense, positive and negative on/off logic, clamp overvoltage protection, standard threaded mounting holes, a trim range of -40 to +10 percent, and 105 degrees C overtemperature shutdown protection. Additional features include current limiting, short circuit protection and excellent transient response, according to RO. The modules are available in single piece pricing of $139 for the Su48-5-150, and $160 for the Su48-5-200. In quantities of 100, the Su48-5-150 is priced at $123.75, and the Su48-5-200 is priced at $145.
