Raytheon Releases RMPA1956-103 Power Amplifiers

May 05, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Raytheon RF Components (Andover, MA) announced that it has released its new RMPA1956-103 Series of 3.5V, dual-band, tri-mode power amplifiers for AMPS, CDMA and CDMA2000-1x applications. Operating over both cellular and PCS bands, the power amplifier consumes 65mA (12dBm), and provides an output power of 27.2dBm for CDMA and 30.7dBm for AMPS applications.

The new amplifiers feature the company's dc power management feature, which maintains the power of the amplifier to a level high enough to sustain signal integrity, resulting in an increased power efficiency and linearity, as well increased phone talk times. The amplifier is manufactured using InGaP GaAs HBT process technology, which provides single positive supply operation with power-down capability during the receive mode.

The RMPA1956-103 is shipped in a compact LCC package, measuring 6mm x 6mm x 1.5mm.
