Pulse Intros PG0137 Power Inductor Series

December 18, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Pulse Engineering Inc. (San Diego, CA) introduced the PG0137 Series of low-profile, low-cost, small-footprint, high-power, surface-mount (SMT) inductors for dc/dc converters used for distributed power architecture, point-of-load power supplies, and voltage regulator modules.

With an inductance value of 0.090µH to 1.35µH, a maximum height of 3.2mm, a maximum footprint of 6.8mm x 6.8mm (industry-standard 2525 footprint), a current rating up to 18A, and a temperature range to 130°C, the inductors can be used on high-density component boards where component volume is critical.

The PG0137 Series is the newest in a family of low-profile SMT power inductors. Other products in the family include the PG0083, which has the same footprint, but is taller than the PG0137, and the PG0077 and the PG0084, both with larger footprints. The PG0137 Series is available in tape-and-reel packaging with prices starting at $0.29 for volumes above 100,000 pieces. Volume discounts are available. Inductors with higher inductance values can be ordered upon request. Lead time is four to six weeks.
