Pulse Engineering Introduces New PG0006 Series Inductors

August 23, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Pulse Engineering Inc. (Singapore) introduced a surface-mount, flat-coil, power inductor for high-current applications used in dc/dc converters for high-speed desktop computers, notebook computers, servers and power supply modules. It features a low profile of only 6mm, and a base with lock-in metal clips and a mini-coat on the spring coil to enhance robustness.

Claimed by the company to be the industry's only flat-top, self-leaded inductors with a fixed clip, they are suitable for easy pick-and-place applications and higher current ratings. They are magnetically shielded for reduced EMI.

The device comes in six models — the PG0006.102T, PG0006.212T, PG0006.312T, PG0006.422T, PG0006.462T and PG0006.522T — with inductance values ranging from 0.9µH to 4.95µH, and dc resistance from 1.75 milliohms to 12.4 milliohms, typical. It also suits high-current applications up to 20Adc, and is specified for operation from 0 to 100 degrees C.
