Pulse Engineering Debuts the Volta-5 Series of Inductors

July 24, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Pulse Engineering Inc. (San Diego, CA) announced the Volta-5 Series of surface-mount power inductors. Intended for use with next-generation, low-voltage, high-performance microprocessors, the inductors feature a maximum height of 7.11mm. They occupy a 12.95mm x 12.95mm footprint and feature a squaroid-core design.

The Volta-5 devices come in inductance values of 330nH, 470nH, 680nH and 1uH. They exhibit dc resistance of 0.74mohms. Their current rating is up to 40A and their frequency ranges from 100kHz to 2MHz. The operating temperature ranges from 40 to 125 degrees C.

Available in tape-and-reels, Pulse Engineering's Volta-5 power inductors are priced at $0.93 each in quantities of 100,000.
