Protek Power Announces 300W Medical Grade Power Supplies

June 10, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

Protek Power North America announced the PM300 Series of 300W, medical, ac-dc switching power supplies, which are said to offer a compact, performance packed design with full compliance to worldwide EN60101-1 medical safety standards.

The PM300 series has a universal 90-264Vac input and 21 models with single, dual, triple or quad outputs, ranging from 3.3 to 48Vdc. All outputs are floating, adjustable, and fully regulated, allowing flexibility in meeting a user’s exact voltage requirements. Multiple output models also are available with a high current 24Vdc primary output.

The PM300’s compact package of 7.5 x 4.5 x 1.75" is suitable for the space critical designs of today’s higher power medical equipment. An optional, integral cover and fan assembly allows for up to 300W of power from 0-50°C, with derated output power up to 70°C. The PM300 is also available in a U-channel version, capable of up to 150W of convection cooled power or 300W with 35CFM of user provided moving air.

The PM300 series features double fusing, necessary for European medical designs, comprehensive protection circuitry, power fail detect and remote inhibit. Remote sense is standard on output #1 and output #2. The company claims that high efficiency and high MTBF make the PM300 a suitable choice for critical applications.

Units are priced starting at only $105.00 for 1K pieces with delivery from stock to 8 weeks ARO.
