ProTek Devices Debuts New SR70 Diode Array

December 10, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

ProTek Devices (Tempe, AZ) introduced the SR70, an ultra-low, capacitance steering, diode array designed for protection against electrostatic discharge, electrical fast transients and secondary lightning protection. The SR70 is suitable for use in high-speed, signal-interface applications, including ADSL, USB1.1/2.0 ports, I2C microprocessor buses, video lines and mobile electronics.

The SR70 is capable of protecting one line pair or two signal lines via the clamping of transient voltage to power lines or ground. Its ultra-low capacitance (3pF typical line-to-line and 5pF line-to-ground) allows maintenance of signal integrity for high-speed signals while protecting the circuit ICs from the damage of severe transients. An extremely low leakage current (less than 1µA) makes the SR70 suitable for battery-powered devices such as portable storage and digital cameras or camcorders. It is a small package, SOT-143 device with four leads that reduces internal lead inductance for low, overshoot voltage during fast front time transient events.

Sample quantities are available upon request in tape-and-reel packaging. Pricing is $0.32 each for quantities of 10,000.
