Power-One Announces CPD200-4530 Power Supply

July 24, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Power-One Inc. (Camarillo, CA) announced the new 200W four-output CPD200-4530 power supply. The device provides up to 40A of 5V, or 3.3V, in a CompactPCI-compatible package, using Power-One's Efficient Dual Geometric Edge technology. Two additional outputs provide 12V at 5.5A and -12V at 1.5A.

The CPD200-4530 operates over an input range of 36Vdc to 75 Vdc and is over 80 percent efficient. The device has many standard features designed for hot-swap-redundant applications. Front-panel-mounted LED's provide visual input and output-voltage status. The 3U-high x 8HP-wide chassis incorporates a 47-pin Positronic connector. The 5V, 3.3V and 12V outputs

have remote-sense and current-sharing capabilities, and all four outputs

have the FET equivalents of diode ORings.

Internal protections include over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature. Interface signals include inhibit, power fail and temperature warning. The

CPD200-4530 operates from 0 to 50 degrees C with 250 LFM of air, and can operate up

to 70 degrees C with derating. The product is recognized to UL/cUL60950 and TUV

licensed to EN60950, carries the CE Marking for the Low Voltage Directive

89/23EEC, and meets FCC and EN55022 Class A conducted EMI requirements.

Pricing for the CPD200-4530 is $290 in quantities above 250. Production

quantities are available from stock in six to eight weeks. Power-factor corrected ac-input versions will soon be available.
