Polytron Devices Releases MWB60 Series of DC/DC Converters

November 08, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Polytron Devices Inc. (Paterson, NJ) recently released for mass production a complete series of 60W dc/dc converters, the MWB60 Series, with 4:1 wide input voltage range from 9Vdc to 36Vdc and 18Vdc to 72Vdc. These high-density converters are available with single-, dual- and triple-output voltages that span from 3.3Vdc to 15Vdc. The converters are encapsulated and operate without derating or heatsinking over their full specified temperature range. The six-sided electrostatically shielded package is designed for all I/O board system and subsystem distributed-power configurations where low-voltage semiconductors are involved.

The MWB60 Series offers output over-voltage protection and over-current protection. With an internal high-performance pi filter to minimize reflected ripple at the output, the need for external filtering should be eliminated. Also featured is an inhibit/sync input pin and remote control. These converters are up to 85 percent efficient and were designed for a variety of applications, including telecommunications, process control, instrumentation, automotive and other EMI-sensitive applications. All units are 100-percent burned-in under full load, hi-pot tested and final-electric tested prior to shipment.

The converters are priced at $59.95 each in quantities of 1,000. Average delivery takes four to six weeks.
