Philips Semiconductor Launches BF1201 to BF1204 Series of MOSFETs

March 13, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Philips Semiconductor (Netherlands) has launched the BF1201 to BF1204 N-channel, dual-gate signal MOSFETs suitable for application in TV and VCR tuners requiring a 3V to 9V supply voltage.

The BF1201 is optimized for cross-modulation, and the BF1202 for noise. The parts are enhancement-type devices, with the source and substrate interconnected. Integrated diodes between gates and source protect against excessive input-voltage surges. Both devices are claimed to feature a high ratio of forward transfer admittance to input capacitance. They use partly self-biasing circuitry to ensure high cross-modulation performance with automatic gain control and dc stabilization.

The new devices offer various pinning and packaging options, including SOT-143, SOT-143R and SOT-343. The BF1203 and BF1204 were previously available to major customers, but are now available to all. The BF1203 has two dual-gate MOSFET amplifiers with shared source and gate 2 leads; the BF1204 uses two identical MOSFETs. Both use internal diodes to protect against surges and are available in SOT-363 micro-miniature plastic packages.

All products are in full production and samples are available. Pricing for the BF1201 and BF1202 is $0.09 each; the BF1203 is $0.14 each and the BF1204 is $0.15 each, all in quantities of one million.
