Pacific Scientific Debuts PD2400 Micro-Step Drive

September 05, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Pacific Scientific (Rockford, IL), a subsidiary of Danaher Corp. (Washington, DC), announced its 40kHz, pulse-wave-modulation frequency, PD2400 micro-step drive, which delivers high performance in a small package. The PD2400 Series is available in two current levels with up to 6A of continuous current. The PD2400 only operates on dc power levels. Coupled with its 5in footprint, the series is suitable for the semiconductor manufacturing market.

The PD2400 provides on-board, programmable and optically isolated I/O, which offers eight inputs; three 5Vdc, high-speed inputs and three outputs for heightened functionality and high-speed gearing. The extended I/O version offers 24 inputs, 5Vdc high-speed inputs and 11 outputs. The PD2400 controls both standard hybrid-stepper and low-inertia, disc magnet, stepper motors.
