Oryx Receives First Major Order From IRISO Electronics For SurgX

Oryx Technology Corp. (Fremont, CA) announced that IRISO Electronics Corp. Ltd. (Japan), a licensee of Oryx's SurgX technology, has received its first substantial order from a major Japanese audio systems manufacturer for discrete components utilizing Oryx's SurgX electrostatic discharge protection technology. The initial order is for 300,000 units per month. Oryx stated that it has been advised that production volumes are expected to increase as other divisions begin to adopt this technology. An IRISO spokesperson commented that IRISO currently has manufacturing capabilities to product 5 million units per month utilizing the SurgX technology, and is planning to increase volume production up to 100 million units a month before the end of the calendar year."We are very excited with the continued progress IRISO has made in lowering the manufacturing cost of our SurgX technology as well as broadening the commercial applications for the Japanese marketplace," stated Oryx CEO Philip Micciche. "We look forward to achieving similar acceptance within the US as a result of our relationship with Bussman, a division of Cooper Industries."
