ON Semiconductor Accelerates Transformation Process

April 04, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

ON Semiconductor (Phoenix, AZ) announced that it has accelerated its plans to consolidate its global manufacturing operations with the goal of trimming $100 million from its annual manufacturing expenditures. The company directed its efforts towards reducing the number of redundancies in its global manufacturing presence and streamlining its manufacturing processes.

As part of this effort, ON Semiconductor is conducting a limited workforce reduction that affects approximately 550 manufacturing positions worldwide, or less than 5 percent of the company's overall workforce. The company will trim an additional 80 manufacturing positions through attrition.
