Ohmite Unveils New TBH25 Resistor

August 15, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Ohmite (Skokie, IL) introduced the new TBH25 resistor, designed for intermediate power applications. With a reliable thick-film-on-alumina substrate technology, the TBH25 resistor delivers 25W of continuous power at 25 degrees C case temperature when properly mounted to a heatsink.

The resistors are constructed of an electrically isolated resistor element packaged in a high-temperature plastic case with a single-screw metal tab for easy mounting to the heat sink. The TBH package meets JEDEC requirements for TO220 profiles with radial lead terminals for easy insertion.

The TBH25-style TO220 resistors are offered in a wide resistance range from 0.05ohm to 10kohm. Standard tolerance is +/-five percent, and one percent is available through factory request.

The TBH25 resistors feature low-temperature coefficients down to +/-50ppm, and they exhibit noninductive performance when fully charged. The resistors also display a low thermal resistance down to 8.33 degrees C per watt to support cooling effectiveness on liquid-cooled, air-cooled or convection-cooled heatsinks.

The TBH25 resistors are provided in 21in anti-static tube packaging for easy handling and automatic-insertion systems. Standard values are economically priced.
