Power Technology Inc. (Houston, TX), a research and development company engaged in alternative battery technology, announced that Nuytco Research Ltd. (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada), a manufacturer of submersibles, has asked Power Technology to design and provide it with deep-cycle, AGM prototype batteries for testing in its submersibles.

Nuytco Research Engineering Technologist Mike Reay stated, "The magnitude of the performance increase of the Power Technology battery over conventional lead-acid batteries is stunning. The increase in energy capacity is a huge advantage for submarine applications. We want to install and test the Power Technology prototypes as soon as they are available."

Power Technology Chairman and CEO Bernard Walter added, "Nuytco Research Ltd. is a world leader in the development and operation of undersea technology and we are honored that have asked us to design and produce a prototype battery for this application. We look forward to Nuytco’s involvement in the testing and development of our battery."
