NEC Electronics America Inc. (Japan) announced the appointment of Yuichi Kawakami as the new President and Chief Executive Officer effective April 1, 2005. Kawakami will oversee day-to-day operations and will be responsible for setting and delivering on the company's strategies and goals.
Kawakami has held a variety of executive management positions in his more than 30 years at NEC Corp. and NEC Electronics Corp., most recently serving as Vice President of NEC Electronics Corp.'s sales and marketing operations unit. Kawakami succeeds Toshio Nakajima, President and CEO, who will return to NEC Electronics Corp. in Japan to serve as a corporate officer effective April 1, 2005.
