Mitsubishi Motors to Enter 4WD MIEV in Japanese Rally

Mitsubishi Motors Corp. (Japan) announced that it will enter a four-wheel-drive (4WD) electric vehicle (EV) in an EV rally in Tokushima Prefecture this weekend. The Lancer Evolution Mitsubishi in-wheel motor electric vehicle (MIEV) test vehicle uses a lithium-ion battery to power four in-wheel motors. Mitsubishi is developing the next-generation MIEV in a bid to put a MIEV model on sale by 2010.
