New ECOFIT Backward Curved Impellers for UPS, Variable Frequency Drives and Inverters

December 09, 2012 by Jeff Shepard

Reliable air movement is a necessity for specialized equipment such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), variable frequency drives (VFD), rectifiers or inverters. New ECOFIT® electronically commutated backward curved impellers from Rosenberg provide cooling airflow more quietly, efficiently and dependably. They feature a rated life expectancy of L10 with a minimum 50,000 hours of operation at air temperatures up to 158°F (70°C).

ECOFIT brand backward-curved impellers with electronically commutated (EC) motors deliver low-noise and highly efficient air cooling in uninterruptible power supply (UPS), variable frequency drive (VFD), and other rectifier or inverter applications. New EC models are now available in addition to standard AC models. These fans are ideal for air conditioning, supplemental cooling, rack or in-row equipment cooling. They feature a rated life expectancy of L10 with a minimum 50,000 hours of operation at air temperatures up to 158°F (70°C). IP44 protection is standard.

The ECOFIT backward curved line includes fans with diameters of 180 mm (7.09 inches), 192 mm (7.56 inches), 220 mm (8.7 inch), 225 mm (8.9 inch), 250 mm (9.8 inch), 280 mm (11 inch), and 315 mm (12.4 inch) offering maximum airflow of more than 1,200 CFM.

The innovative blade design ensures that noise is reduced to a minimum. Their compact design and wide range of sizes make the fans a perfect fit in a broad variety of equipment. Available accessories include inlet cones, inlet guards, and UL listed capacitors. ECOFIT also offers popular options such as thermal protection and a tachometer to monitor the rotation speed of the motor. In addition to standard products, ECOFIT fans can be built to specifically meet customers' unique needs such as special finishes, voltages, or frequencies.
