NEC Adopts SLI's Aero+/Aero I+ RF Transceivers

Silicon Laboratories Inc. (SLI, Austin, TX) announced that NEC Corp. (Japan), a provider of Internet, broadband network and mobile Internet solutions, has adopted the Aero™+ and Aero I+ GSM/GPRS transceivers for its new wireless handsets. As 100-percent CMOS RF solutions, the Aero+ and Aero I+ transceivers integrate the digitally controlled crystal oscillator.

"NEC has strong design expertise and manufacturing capabilities, which we will be leveraging to expand our presence in the global GSM handset market," said Yoshiharu Tamura, general manager of NEC Mobile Terminals Division. "Silicon Laboratories' leadership position in RF innovation, combined with its strong technical support and history of execution, were key factors in our selection of the Aero+ and Aero I+ transceivers."
