Mysticom Announces MY3124 Transceiver

August 26, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Mysticom Ltd. (Israel) announced its new MY3124, a XAUI-to-XAUI retiming transceiver that features dual-10GbE serial interfaces with programmable data rates running from 1Gbps to 3.2Gbps. Based on the 10GBASE CX4 draft, the product incorporates five adjustable link parameters that enable error-free transmissions over a wide range of system impairments.

Suitable for stackable switch, chassis-to-chassis, and switch-to-server system interconnects, the product surpasses the draft requirements by extending the reach over copper cabling to 25m, a 60% increase in performance. Additional features include eight independent serial channels that support 1x, 2x and 10G fiber-channel, InfiniBand and GbE protocols; an optional integrated forward-error-correction on each channel, and a real-time signal quality indicator.

The device is priced at $50 in high-volume quantities.
