Mitsumi Intros M36N-1/M36N-2 Power Motors

October 03, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Mitsumi Electronics Corp. (Japan) introduced the M36N-1 and M36N-2 carbon brush power motors, which are miniature dc motors that achieve high torque and low clogging. The company guarantees rotational stability via the use of a high-grade carbon brush. The torque is up to 30mN-m at 18V. The motors are expected to last >500h.

The rated voltages and currents are 18V, 475mA (M36N-1) and 23.5V, 730mA (M36N-2). The motors are rated for 1,630rpm (±300rpm, M36N-1) and 3,740rpm (±300rpm, M36N-2). The starting torque is 109mN-m (M36N-1) and 147mN-m (M36N-2).

The M36N-1 motor measures 38.5(ø) x 57mm, and the M36N-2 measures 37.5(ø) x 50mm, excluding the shaft.
