Miniature All Metal Current Sense Chip Resistors for Portable Devices

February 03, 2020 by Paul Shepard

Consumer electronics, especially portable electronic devices, continue to trend towards faster speeds and lower power. This means in many cases circuitry can be simplified and downsized, including the power control and delivery platform.

Lower operating currents and lower voltages mean large size current sense resistors are not necessary for power handling.

Stackpole's new CSS0201 is an all metal current sense resistor that provides a small chip size in resistance values of 10 and 20 milliohm, in tolerances as low as 1% and TCR of 200 ppm. This means that the design engineer does not need to sacrifice accuracy in downsizing to an 0201 sense resistor.

Pricing for the CSS0201 is $0.15 each in full reel quantities. Contact Stackpole or one of our franchised distributors for volume pricing. 10 milliohm resistance values are currently in stock.
