Minco Products Unveils New RTD Sensors Series

February 03, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Minco Products Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) introduced the company's new series of bolt-on RTD temperature sensors that feature a rugged lead-wire connection, which resists damage from handling, installation and operation. The sensor's two-wire construction allows use with 4mA to 20mA transmitters, while the three-wire design is used to compensate for lead-wire resistance.

The new series features four models with through-holes and two models with threaded-bolt designs. They are suitable for thermal monitoring of existing production machinary and testing thermal characteristics of new designs. Operating at up to 550 degrees C, the sensors are available with platinum and nickel RTD elements. The 100 ohm at 0 degree C platinum (0.00385 TCR) element meets the IEC 751 standard, while the 1 kiloohm at 0 degree C platinum element provides greater sensitivity. Models with 100 ohms at 0 degree C platinum (0.00375 TCR) and nickel elements are also available.
