Microsemi Corp. (Santa Ana, CA) announced it has signed an agreement to provide Compaq Computer Corp. with $3.5 million worth of power protection devices over the 1999 calendar year. Parts to be supplies include Microsemi's Powermite low profile power management diodes and custom-designed transient voltage suppression devices. The devices will be incorporated into Compaq's commercial computer products. According to Microsemi, the one-year agreement will be renewed on an annual basis, subject to the firm meeting Compaq supplier requirements."In signing this agreement with Compaq, we demonstrate the results of our focus on providing high-performance power management devices to specialty customers," stated Microsemi Chairman, President and CEO Philip Frey Jr. "Our customers recognize Microsemi as among the top five providers of specialty discrete electronics for power management.
