Microsemi Corp. (Irvine, CA) announced a new ultra-low, forward-voltage, schottky diode in its patented Powermite® surface-mount package for use in battery charging and power supply applications. The UPS115U is suitable for OR-ing diode applications that include battery chargers for portable electronic devices, redundant/backup or hot-swappable power sources, and fault-protection circuits.
The UPS115U rectifier has been optimized to enhance its forward-voltage drop to 0.2V at 100 degrees C, significantly improving loss characteristics of the device compared with conventional schottky diodes. The UPS115U schottky is less than 1mm high. For designs where size and thermal specifications are less important, the LSM115J die is also available in a standard SMB package. Both parts are available for immediate sampling and delivery.
Prices for the UPS115U start at $0.284 and at $0.259 for the LSM115J, both in 1,000-piece quantities.
