Microsemi Introduces UPS520-40 Series Schottkys

September 18, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Microsemi Corp. (Irvine, CA) announced that it has introduced a new series of high-frequency surface-mount Schottky barrier rectifiers, the UPS520-40, expanding the company's offerings in its patented Powermite package.

The UPS520-40 Series offers an integral guard-ring protection; a low forward-voltage drop of 0.51V at 1/2A; a peak repetitive reverse voltage of 20V, 30V and 40V; and a reverse leakage current of 10uA at 15V. With a footprint of only 10mmsq, the UPS520 is the smallest Schottky barrier rectifier on the market able to handle this power level, according to the company.

It is a third the size of comparably rated products and has a height of only 1.1mm. The patented full metallic base eliminates solder flux problems during assembly, as well as providing an integrated heat sink in operation. It is designed for PDAs and hand-held computers, wireless web tablets, mobile phones and radios, pagers and wireless messaging units, and heat-sensitive optical power supplies.

Immediate sampling quantities are available. In OEM quantities of 100,000 pieces, the UPS520 is priced at $0.065.
