September 12, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

Micrel Semiconductor (San Jose, CA) introduced the MIC2778, a flexible voltage supervisor IC for detecting low battery conditions in portable devices. Available in Micrel's IttyBitty SOT23-5 package, the MIC2778 features adjustable hysteresis and ultra-low quiescent current. The MIC2778 features a typical 1uA power supply current. Two different product grades are being offered with different accuracy: the MIC2778-2 has a guaranteed accuracy of +2 percent, while the MIC2778-1 has a guaranteed accuracy of +1 percent. The MIC2778-2BM5 is priced at $0.78 each in quantities of 1,000.
