MGE UPS Systems (Costa Mesa, CA) introduced its next generation of line-interactive UPSs, the Pulsar Ellipse Premium Series. Using high-frequency switching technology, the Ellipse Premium units are designed to provide users with performance, reliability and size. Available in power ratings from 500VA to 1,200VA, the new desk-top and rack-mount units are suited for maximizing the power availability of workstations and small servers.
Microprocessor-controlled charging extends battery life up to 50 percent, while smart battery management ensures advanced warning when the batteries need replacement. The Premium models feature an advanced voltage regulator that allows the UPS to ride through deviations in input voltage without discharging the battery during momentary brownouts.
To add extended run time for critical systems, the 650VA, 800VA and 1,200VA Ellipse Premium models feature load shedding or "PowerShare" technology. By programming the PowerShare outlets, users can easily assign maximum backup time to the most critical devices.
The Pulsar Ellipse Premium product line is available now with prices starting at $220. The new systems feature a comprehensive two-year warranty that includes battery replacement and comes with a $35,000 equipment-protection warranty.
