January 30, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

The HIT Series by Meter Treater Inc. (Lake Park, FL) allows the establishment of surge-protected single-point ingress to the home for power, telephone, security and cable services. Available from your local power utility, this product series (the NEMA 3R, AC Protection Module, Telephony Protection Module and Coaxial Protection Module) is configurable to the exact application requirements of any residence, relying on din-rail mounting modules should future application requirements change.

The NEMA 3R enclosure is UL and CSA listed. The enclosure is made of non-corroding plastics to stand up to the toughest of weather conditions and is din-rail equipped.

The ac Protection Module has a RMS symmetrical fault current rating of 25kA, applicable for continuous ac service applications >400amps, coordinated safety and thermal fusing, and 40mm MOV protection with a 150V MCOV rating.

The Coaxial Protection Module features CATV protection with a clamping voltage of 45V, satellite television protection with a clamping voltage of 55V, CCTV protection with a clamping voltage of 10V, available high-speed data protection, and a maximum of three ports (depending on the number of pairs to be protected).
