Matsushita Electronic Components Co. Ltd. (Japan) announced the new FD and FM Series of half-brick and quarter-brick dc/dc modules, which provide high power and efficiency in a small size. The FD Series exhibits low noise characteristics, while the FM Series has high heat resistance.
Measuring 61mm x 57.9mm x 12.7mm, the FD Series modules deliver up to 91 percent efficiency at 48V input and 28V/7.5A output. The FM Series devices, which feature dimensions of 58mm x 37mm x 8.5mm, offer up to 84 percent efficiency at 48V input and 1.5V/20A output. Applications include base-band board assemblies employed in radio base stations, PBX systems and servers.
