Lucent Power to Provide $100 Million Titania Products to Sun Microsystems, Acend & Intel

Lucent Technologies Power Systems (Mesquite, TX) announced it has entered transactions valued at approximately $100 million to provide its Titania power products to Sun Microsystems, Ascend and Intel for their next-generation servers and microprocessors. The company also stated it plans to use Titania power products for its next-generation wireless networks. The company is introducing a new power product line, called the Austin Series Power Modules, to address the needs of digital signal processor and controller chip manufacturers for wireless infrastructure, Internet telephony server and digital modem applications. "When we introduced the Titania Series Power Modules last year, we knew we were ahead of the market with a cutting-edge power technology," stated Bill Spivey, president of Lucent's Network Products Group. "We have launched this new division within our Power Systems group to provide a razor-sharp focus on this rapidly changing segment of our industry to maintain that advantage.
