May 08, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Lin Engineering Inc. (Santa Clara, CA), a leader in step motor design, unveiled its new R208 24V, 2A, bipolar, microstepping driver, which produces sinusoidal current waveforms for smooth motion. Users have the option of setting the microstepping resolution from full-step, half-step, one-fourth-step, and one-eighth-step. In addition, the R208 driver features optically isolated step, direction and disable inputs, as well as built-in thermal shutdown and efficient current control features.
