LEM USA Inc. (Milwaukee, WI) announced the development of its new LF Series for non-intrusive and isolated current measurement of dc, ac and pulsed currents with two 200Arms nominal constructions. Two transducers are now available, the LF 205-S and LF 205-P, which are useful in the power range up to 100kW.
The development led to housing concepts, which offer different mounting possibilities, two for horizontal and two for vertical mounting. The mounting, with four points, offers special protection in applications exposed to vibrations and shocks. The rugged housing material, combined with the potting of the housing, exhibits a high rigidity. A special version, the LF 205-S/SP1, uses a MOLEX MiniFit Jr. as an output connector.
The LF 205-P version allows a PCB mounting. The LF 205-P/SP1 version is different than the standard model, because it has a better fastening to the PCB. The transducers conform to standard EN 50178, and are perfectly adapted to industrial applications, such as variable speed drives. LEM offers a five-year warranty for both transducers.
