J.W. Miller Intros New Series of Power Inductors

November 08, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

J.W. Miller (Gardena, CA) introduced the new PM7032S, PM5022S, PM12565S, PM3316S and PM1608S Series of surface-mount power inductors for high-current applications. Designed with magnetic shielding to reduce radiation emission to minimal levels and protect circuit functionality, the new inductors feature low dc resistance and a ferrite core, and their high heat resistance ensures dependable reflow soldering.

Performance characteristics include an inductance range of 1.0µH to 1,000µH, a dc current range of 2.2A to 6.2A and a temperature range of -20 to +105 degrees C. Typical applications include dc/dc converters, laptop computers, battery chargers, network cards, small hand-held electronic devices and EMI filtering.

The PM7032S, PM5022S, PM12565S, PM3316S and PM1608S Series are now available in tape-and-reel packaging and are priced from $1.08 to $1.80 each in production quantities of one reel.
