IRC Presents PFC Series TaNFilm Resistor Chips

October 20, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

IRC Inc. (Corpus Christi, TX) recently enhanced the performance of its tantalum-nitride precision resistor chips, with tolerances to ±0.02 percent and absolute TCRs to ±10ppm/C. Designated the PFC Series, the ultra-precision resistors are manufactured using IRC’s proprietary, self-passivating, TaNFilm® process, which produces ultra-stable resistive elements without reliability or corrosion problems.

Typical applications for the PFC Series resistors include precision circuits in instrumentation, medical equipment, computers, power supplies and telecommunications. The resistors are available in resistance values from 5 Ohms to 1 Megohms in tolerances from ±0.02 percent to ±1 percent. Power ratings for the various chip sizes are 0603 (100mW), 0805 (250mW), 1206 (333mW) and 1505 (350mW). The operating temperature range is -65 to +150 degrees C.

Typical pricing for the PFC Series resistors starts at $0.95 in quantities of 5,000.
