IR Plans to Establish Packaging Plant in Xi'an, China

International Rectifier Co. (El Segundo, CA) announced plans to invest about $69.0 million to construct a semiconductor packaging plant in Xi'an, China. The proposed plant is projected to have an annual capacity of 600 million electronic power devices, with 80 percent of the products to be exported overseas. The facility, which will be called Xi'an International Rectifier Semiconductor Mfg. Co. Ltd., will have a total fab area of 18,000m² and an allotted 6,000m² area for buildings.
