IR Intros iP1201 and iP1202 DC-DC Power Blocks

February 04, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

International Rectifier Corp. (IR, El Segundo, CA) introduced its new iPOWIR™ iP1201 and iP1202 dual-output, two-phase, dc-dc power blocks in single, BGA packages for synchronous buck applications. The new devices simplify design, reduce size, and streamline computing and telecommunications power system time-to-market.

The new iP1201 and iP1202 have no de-rating requirements up to 90 °C; are fully optimized for medium-current, synchronous buck applications requiring up to 15 A dual output or 30 A single output with an interleaved input; feature built-in, full-function, pulse-width modulation control and protection circuits with optimized power semiconductors and passive components; and allow a wide input and output voltage range. The iP1201 covers input bus voltages from 3 V to 5.5 V, and the iP1202 covers from 5.5 V to 13.2 V, with outputs as low as 0.8 V and as high as 5 V at full current.

The iP1201 and iP1202 are available immediately. Pricing is $10.05 each in 1,000-unit quantities.
