IR Expands Family of Automotive-Qualified MOSFETs Featuring Low On-State Resistance
International Rectifier, IR® announced the expansion of its dedicated family of automotive-qualified power MOSFETs for applications requiring low on-state resistance (RDS(on)) including on-board power supplies and heavy loads on Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) platforms, micro and full hybrid platforms.
Delivering RDS(on) as low as 2.6mΩ at 55V, the family of devices ranges from 40 to 100V and includes the first 75V offerings. With higher voltages well suited for use in 24V truck systems, several of the devices feature the new revised maximum current ratings of up to 240 A in a D2Pak-7P and 195A in a D2Pak.

IR’s automotive MOSFETs are subject to dynamic and static part average testing combined with 100% automated wafer level visual inspection as part of IR’s automotive quality initiative targeting zero defects. AEC-Q101 qualification requires that there is no more than a 20% change in RDS(on) after 1,000 temperature cycles of testing. However, in extended testing, IR’s new AU Bill of Materials demonstrated a maximum RDS(on) shift of less than 10% at 5,000 temperature cycles, showing the strength and ruggedness of the Bill of Materials.
The new devices are qualified according to AEC-Q101 standards and feature an environmentally friendly, lead-free and RoHS compliant Bill of Materials.
Pricing ranges from US $0.27 for the AUIRFR4105Z to US $1.65 for the AUIRFP2907Z each in 100,000-unit quantities. Production orders are available immediately. The automotive-qualified devices are lead-free and RoHS compliant.
