Mean Well has introduced the XBG-160 series LED driver for high-bay and outdoor luminaires applications. With its patented appearance and cutting-edge circuitry design, the company expects the XBG-160 series LED driver to quickly gain popularity.
Typical applications for the driver include LED bay lighting, LED stage lighting, LED spot lighting, explosion-proof lighting, and its use as a Type HL LED driver for class I division 2. (See image below with the driver and applications).
XBG-160 series adopts the Mean Well patented metal housing circular design (patent number CN201220314551). The constant-power circuitry design of the HBG series enables easy adjustment of the drive current and greatly reduces the SKU of models.
In addition, an ac input cable with waterproof connector or the general AC input cable versions are optional, providing more flexibility. (See image below).
XBG-160 has a 3-in-1 dimming function compliant with the latest IEC61347/GB7000.1 and UL 8750 regulation. The company applied isolation design between the output and dimming cables.
Another series of LED drivers, the HBG Series, enables DALI dimming functionality.
XBG-160 series key features include an input voltage range from 100V to 305V. (See block diagram above). The output voltage range covers from 34V to 56V, meeting the voltage demands of the COB LED and even the regular SMD LED design. The output driver current range can operate from 1425mA to 4100 mA for 78W to 160W applications. (See the graph of the LED driver’s performance below).
XBG-160 series can be used at 100% load output with driver current from 2850mA to 4100mA at 160W full power output. High efficiency reaches 93% with surge protection 6kV /4kV design. This series is a suitable fit for industrial applications.
