Io Ltd. (UK) announced the MPS28-100, a new off-the-shelf 100W power supply for aerospace applications that is capable of converting the standard 115Vac, 400Hz aircraft bus supply into 28Vdc. The product, which complies with MIL-STD-704E, measures 2.75in x 7.5in x 10in and weighs 6.2 pounds. The design allows optional dc output levels such as 4Vdc and 12Vdc to be provided.
The MPS28-100 delivers up to 100W of continuous-output power at 28Vdc. Alternatively, the supply may be specified with single- or dual-custom dc outputs to power commercially sourced avionic systems components. The module is able to withstand input power outages of up to 50msec, and employs a three-sided extrusion that doubles as both a case and a heatsink for convection cooling.
