Invensys Energy Systems Debuts New Intergy R5848 Single-Phase Rectifier at Intelec 2000

September 21, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

The new Intergy R5848 single-phase rectifier from Invensys Energy Systems (Phoenix, AZ) was introduced at the recent Intelec 2000 show in Phoenix. Intended for high-power communications applications, the Intergy R5848 has both the CE conformity marking and UL approval. The single-phase rectifier, which retains many of the same features as its three-phase counterpart, has several new attributes, such as an extended ac voltage input range of 187V to 300V, and a total harmonic distortion of less than five percent of the input current.

Invensys claims that its switch-mode technology, intelligent control and high efficiency will combine to ensure easy installation and lower operating costs. Serving as a building block for dc power systems of up to 15,000A, the R5848 may be used in major network switching sites, co-location facilities and large data switches.
