Intersil Holding Announces New HUF76112SK8 MOSFETs

July 02, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Intersil Holding Corp. (Irvine, CA) announced the latest addition to its family of application-specific power semiconductors, the HUF76112SK8. According to Intersil, the new UltraFET MOSFET provides the improved power efficiency required to enable high-speed computing and Internet data transfer.

The HUF76112SK8 is designed to operate in notebook PC applications as the upper MOSFET in advanced CPU platforms. The device features low-gate charge and low-input capacitance, and provides consistent power to dc/dc converters, which become more efficient as gate drive losses and switching losses are reduced.

"Intersil's UltraFET MOSFET is designed to deliver power efficiency in excess of the 90-percent industry-standard IPG200 guidelines. Intersil's UltraFET MOSFET offering plays a fundamental role in powering advanced notebook PCs," said William Peng, product marketing manager at Intersil. "Power requirements play an increasingly crucial role in notebook PC design as microprocessors become more advanced. The HUF76112SK8 meets these requirements by efficiently controlling power and significantly reducing power loss in dc/dc converter applications."

The HUF76112Sk8 is priced at $0.40 in 1,000-piece quantities.
