Intersil Debuts ISL84516 and ISL84517 Switches

August 23, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Intersil Corp. (Irvine, CA) announced two new additions to its MightyMUX high-performance analog switch line, the ISL84516 and the ISL84517, which are single-pole, single-throw configured and operate from a ±1.5V to ±6V dual-polarity supply. Targeted applications include portable battery-powered equipment in which space and power consumption are concerns and high-precision equipment used for medical, communications, multimedia and testing.

Low leakage currents of 1nA (maximum) lengthen hold times in sample-and-hold-circuits, and fast switching speeds reduce the propagation delay in timing-sensitive applications. The switches offer a minimal charge injection of 10pC to maximize signal integrity, and both come in the eight-lead SOIC and five-lead SOT-23 packages.

Pricing for 100-unit quantities of the ISL84516IB and ISL84517IB is $0.55 each in the eight-lead SOIC package. Pricing for 2,500-minimum-unit quantities of the ISL84516IH-T and ISL84517IH-T is $0.56 each for five-lead SOT-23 packages on tape-and-reel.
