Intersil Announces ISL6441/ISL6443 Triple-Output Controllers

February 24, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Intersil Corp. (Milpitas, CA) announced its ISL6441 and ISL6443 high-performance, triple-output controllers optimized for converting wall adapter, battery or network intermediate bus dc-input supplies into the system supply voltages required for a wide variety of broadband gateway and general-purpose product applications.

The ISL6441 and ISL6443 are high-efficiency, three-in-one PWM solutions for providing two synchronous buck-regulated voltage outputs and a linear controller output. The ISL6441 and ISL6443 features two synchronous-rectified PWM buck controllers, current-mode control, a VIN range of 4.5 V to 24 V, a VOUT greater than or equal to 0.8 V, PWM operating frequencies of 1.4 MHz for the ISL6441 300 kHz for the ISL6443, a single linear controller, PGOOD output, out-of-phase PWM controller operation, programmable soft-start, power-good protection, under-voltage lockout, over-current protection, and over-temperature protection.

The ISL6441 and ISL6443 are each available now in standard lead finish and are lead-free, in a 28-lead, thermally enhanced, 5 mm x 5 mm, QFN package. Pricing in 10,000-unit quantities is $1.60 for each IC.
