International Rectifier Announces New HEXFET Power MOSFETs

International Rectifier (El Segundo, CA) has announced a new series of more than 40 dc/dc converter-specific HEXFET power MOSFETs that enable 85-percent-plus efficiency in sub-2V power systems. These power systems allow performance to be maximized in distributed-power supplies used in telecom systems, network servers and desktop computers, with advanced microprocessors from AMD, Intel and others.
The dc/dc conversion-specific MOSFETs provide many benefits for power-system designers. One of which is, because of increased efficiency, decreased overall dc/dc converter cost by using less expensive Schottky diodes for output rectification. Pricing starts at $0.64 each in 10,000-unit quantities. Production will begin June 2000.
