Mean Well is formally unveiling the new generation 35- to 350-W LRS enclosed ac-dc power supplies the models; LRS - 35/50/75/100/150/150F/200/350. The LRS family exploits a streamlined circuitry design, eliminating the power factor correction section, that lowers the electrical component count, and the high-degree automation is introduced that significantly raise the cost competitiveness and production yield. Compared to the former generation, the RS series, it has a higher efficiency and is better miniaturized.
It also has the attributes such as low no load consumption (under 0.2W, up to less than 0.75W, depending upon the model), 1U low profile (30mm) and the capability of operating at the altitude up to 5000m. In addition, this family is complied with various safety regulation standards- IEC/EN/UL60950-1, IEC/EN61558-1, IEC/EN61558-2-16, IEC/EN60335-1, GB4943, etc. These power supplies are also designed to be utilized for household appliances.
The LRS series features universal input of 85- to 264-Vac input (115Vac or 230Vac input selectable by switch for LRS-150/200/350). They can withstand a 300-Vac surge input for 5 seconds and have efficiencies up to 91.5%. Models up to 200W can be cooled with free air convection while the 350W unit has a build-in fan. The working temperature range is -30 to +70 degrees C (-25 to +70 degrees C for LRS-200/350).
They are designed to withstand 5G vibration test. Protection functions include; over-temperature (LRS-200/350), short circuit, overload, and over voltage. There is an LED indicator for power on. Approvals include; UL/CUL/TUV/CCC/CB/CE (IEC/EN/UL60950-1; IEC/EN61558-1,-2-16; IEC/EN60335-1; GB4943; EN55022; EN55014), and for the LRS-200/350, UL60950-1.
