Industrial Devices Thrust-Tube Motors Pass Clean-Room Compliance Tests

March 17, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Industrial Devices Corp. (IDC, Petaluma, CA) announced that their thrust-tube tubular linear motors have passed the class 1 clean-room compliance tests carried out by the Fraunhofer Institute (Germany). In accordance with US Federal Standard 209E, the modules have transfer speeds of up to 0.1m/s, or 250 inches per minute. The drive systems are suitable for all applications using clean-room environments, such as semiconductor manufacturing.

IDC reports that the standard thrust tube systems are available as plug-and-play modules and are compatible with industry-standard servo drives.
